Sunshine near the Spanish/French Border

We love recommending RV campsites we love, and one of them was located in Narbonne, France – just minutes from the Spain/France border.

Finally!
Finally!

Camping Les Mimosas, which belongs to the Yelloh Village Group, is located in the heart of Narbonne’s regional nature reserve park, just 10 minutes away from the Gruissan’s beaches, enveloped on 3 sides by vineyards and canals. We were looking forward to spending a nice “sunny” weekend at the beach and pool since the last 2 weeks prior it was raining in most parts of France. (we visited this campsite in July 2014). This site was a nice stop-over before we crossed over into Spain.

In the middle of summer this campsite was full, so we were lucky to get a camping pitch at the last minute. Besides the wonderful pool, waterpark and outdoor playground this campsite hosted some amazing entertainment at night. The weekend we were there included a 2-hour Polynesian show, an awesome dance party for kids and adults with themed dining nights at the resident restaurant.

The only downside to this site was their “strict” pool attire for boys. No surf shorts allowed! So we had to purchase swimming trunks for Jaf and he was not a big fan of it at all. But after sitting out of the water for 10 minutes and watching everyone else on the slides having a ball, he gave up his insecurities and forgot about his trunks.

He was not happy wearing these shorts..

But the #1 reason we enjoyed this site was because of the fine sandy beach nearby and the spacious pitches that really allowed us to relax and just take in the sun.

After 2 weeks of rain, we needed it!
