When in Amsterdam…stay on a houseboat!

Amsterdam has turned into one of our favorite European cities due to its diversity. With residents from 180 different countries, this beautiful Dutch fishing village, with its canals and bike-friendly streets, consists of a richly varied food scene.

During our first visit last summer, we not only found our favorite spots to eat, took one of our first food tours, but also found a great, local site to book family-friendly accommodations: Amsterdam Book Now.

While we generally stayed at campsites throughout Europe, there were some cities that we wanted to be centrally located in, just to experience life there for a couple of days. Amsterdam was one such city. With hotels within the city limits costing a fortune to accommodate a family of four, we resorted to looking into apartment rentals which is how we stumbled upon Amsterdam Book Now. They are number 1 in Amsterdam houseboat rentals, apartment rentals, and bed & breakfast’s with over 80 properties in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam HouseboatsPeople dream of visiting Amsterdam and staying on a houseboat located on one of Amsterdam’s many canals. During our evening strolls through the city, we passed by many Amsterdam houseboats, with inhabitants sitting on their decks enjoying the gorgeous summer days.

There are houseboats for rent that accommodate up to 7 people at very affordable rates, making it a smart choice if you’re traveling in a group.

For those that want to have certain comforts of a hotel without actually checking-in to one, will be glad to know that you can book a room at a Dutch bed & breakfast through the site. We see the appeal in waking up to a home-cooked breakfast, and clean towels & sheets if you’re staying put for a while. But, after months camping and learning to be self-sufficient, I’m not sure we’ll ever stay in a b&b. I guess, never say never, right?

If being on a houseboat isn’t the experience you crave when visiting Amsterdam, then opt for an apartment rental. Amsterdam Book Now has plenty of apartments on offer, whether you like your space as a solo traveler, or are traveling with family or as part of a group. They have an extensive selection on offer, especially options that suit our family of fours needs.

After spending months in an RV, we realized a little space would do us good, and looked for 2-bedroom apartments. The prices that Amsterdam Book Now offered were actually reasonable in comparison to what hotels cost during tourist season.

We loved the time spent in Amsterdam, and have no doubt that we might make a short stop during our 2016 European adventures. Whether you’re in Amsterdam for a short or long stay, you now have a new option, Amsterdam Book Now, to explore for a variety of rentals: be it the quintessential Dutch houseboat, or the Dutch bed and breakfast, or just a regular vacation apartment rental.

We know for our next trip we cannot wait to be staying ON a houseboat!
