Largest Hilton Garden Inn in the World to Open in Waikiki

623-Room Hotel to Debut in June 2016 as the first Hilton Garden Inn on Oahu

Oahu welcomes its first Hilton Garden Inn hotel—the largest Hilton Garden Inn in the world—to the sought-after travel destination of Waikiki. The 623-room property is currently accepting reservations for arrivals beginning June 27, 2016. The property recently underwent a major $115 million redevelopment, transforming every finish and surface, and creating a stylish new hotel featuring modern and convenient appointments. Located steps away from world-famous Waikiki Beach and the revitalized International Market Place, the hotel will feature a chef-inspired American bistro with seasonal produce from local farmers; a locally-owned and operated café and market; and value-added amenities including free Wi-Fi, a premier fitness center and rooftop pool and bar—all offered without a daily resort fee.

“We understand visitors travel to Oahu for the destination, and we want to do all we can to enhance their experience with the personalized service for which Hawaii is known,” said John Taffin, general manager, Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach. “Our guests are sure to find great value in the amenity-rich accommodations we offer at Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach.”

The interior ambiance, considerably unique as compared to Hilton Garden Inn hotels’ standard design, combines distinctive Hawaiian style with a vibrant, urban aesthetic. High wooden ceilings are bordered by gallery-lit Hawaiian kapa prints on reclaimed wood. The lively, living room-style lobby features comfortable, communal seating perfect for lounging or relaxing while deciding how to spend the day. The color palette pays homage to the beauty of the islands through natural materials, finishes and textures. The décor is also carried into guest rooms where pops of color including cobalt and tangerine, and patterns echoing elements such as the ocean and sky, provide an island sense of place. All 623 guest rooms, including one- and two-bedroom suites, will be equipped with a microwave, mini-refrigerator, Keurig coffee/tea maker, 48-inch HDTV with premium channels, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Most rooms will include a walk-out lanai with seating, ideal for enjoying a morning coffee or taking in the sunset. Suites and some rooms will have partial ocean or city views. Adjoining rooms are available—perfect for families or larger groups traveling together.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served at TR Fire Grill, an award-winning, chef-inspired American bistro from Romacorp, Inc. known for freshly made, artisanal dishes and craft wines, beers and cocktails. The menu will feature locally-sourced and seasonally inspired dishes with produce from Hawaii farms. The restaurant’s open kitchen will offer guests an intimate glimpse at the fresh, craft preparation each dish will receive from the culinary team. Meats and vegetables will be smoked in-house daily and steaks will be 100 percent all-natural beef, raised open-range with no antibiotics or added hormones and fed a 100 percent vegetarian diet. Sauces and specialty condiments will be made in-house, ensuring a robust, authentic flavor.

The spirit of adventure will be captured at Holoholo Café and Market, a new store concept by Food Pantry, Ltd., one of several retail entities of the Sullivan Family of Companies, operators of Hawaii’s oldest and largest supermarket chain, Foodland. In Hawaiian, Holoholo means “to go out for pleasure,” and the 2,900-square-foot café, market and gift shop, featuring the company’s first wine and beer bar, a full-service coffee bar, expanded food and beverage services and unique Hawaii gifts, will be a happening place for guests to enjoy at any time of the day. Food offerings such as an ahi poke of the day or macadamia nut haupia pie will showcase the flavors and cuisine of the islands. Coffee blends will feature beans from the islands, and local beers, as well as wine and wine-based cocktails like a tropical mimosa, will be served at the bar. Grab-and-go foods including local fruits, sandwiches, salads, wraps, and sushi, will be made fresh daily, and merchandise will include one-of-a-kind gifts and must-have souvenirs.

Other facilities will include a rooftop pool and poolside bar. Separate cardio and strength training fitness centers, each featuring premium Star Trac equipment, will be available for guests looking to maintain their workout routine while on holiday.

A business center with boarding pass printing station, computer, printer and copier will be open 24-hours for business travelers. Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach will offer 529 square feet of flexible meeting space, perfect for a small meeting or intimate social gathering. Large windows providing ample natural light will serve as a subtle reminder that guests are meeting in paradise. In addition, outdoor and poolside event spaces will be available. Valet parking will be offered at $35 per night with in-and-out access and a car rental agency is conveniently located within a block of the hotel.

John Murphy, president of Evolution Hospitality, stated, “we appreciate the warm welcome we have already received from the Waikiki community and are excited to be a part of the transformation of this property. We see this project as a significant improvement to a property in the heart of Waikiki and a complement to the other redevelopments of the Kuhio Avenue corridor. It gives us great pride to enter the Hawaii market with this excellent new offering of upgraded accommodations. Furthermore, we are very enthusiastic about partnering with Hilton Worldwide and its Hilton Garden Inn brand to offer a flagship property with exceptional amenities and great service to guests from all over the world.”

Located at 2330 Kuhio Avenue, Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach is situated in the dynamic hub of Waikiki, two blocks from Waikiki Beach and within walking distance of many of the area’s most popular shopping, dining, and entertainment attractions.
