Even though you wouldn’t be able to tell by the weather in Hawaii (it still feels like summer), Fall has officially begun! Stores are beginning to stock seasonal produce, and one of our beloved products is pumpkin puree. I’ve always been a fan of pumpkin pie ever since I was a kid – coming home to the smell of pie baking in the oven, mmm who could forget that! I could never wait long enough for it to cool down, much to my mom’s dismay.
I love showing LouLou and Jaf how to make my favorite recipes that I used to enjoy eating when I was their age. This week we spent some time in the kitchen learning how to make pumpkin pie – they had such a blast mixing everything together, watching the pie bake, and best of all being taste testers!
We tested out Christi from Love from the Oven’s Easy Pumpkin Pie recipe. It was delicious, not too sweet, and simple for the kids to follow along. Just a note, it makes two pies, so plan accordingly with the pie crust!
